Sole Survivor is pleased to announce that SOLESU leather goods are now being sold under the name Sole Survivor Leather - Made in the USA. Ownership and staff remain the same. As always, Sole Survivor Leather will continue making “the quality you expect”.
About Sole Survivor
The history of Sole Survivor dates back to the late 60’s when leather craftsman Steve Rye (aka the Sole Survivor) began pedaling his goods to acquaintances, boutiques, and head shops. During that time he was one of many leather craftsmen across the country.
Thru the 70’s Steve and his wife Kay traveled around the country selling their goods at festivals and craft fairs, making brief stops to setup seasonal shops in New Orleans and Bradenton, FL. During their time in Florida the country was heading into a recession. So, to supplement their income Steve picked grapefruits and oranges while Kay worked at the concession stand of the Pittsburgh Pirates winter home.
By the early 80’s the couple returned to their native home and opened shop in Saint Louis, Missouri. By this time Steve was one of the few leather craftsmen left; truly a sole survivor of the industry.
Today, Sole Survivor Leather products are available in boutiques across the country and around the world. Because of a growing demand in the U.S. and foreign markets especially Japan the Sole Survivor Leather brand will continue to be a sole survivor.

Our lead designer and craftsman Steve recently refurbished this chair. Using Vegetable Tan cow hide he hand carved a steer into the back support of the chair, and hand stitched lacing to secure the seat and back. It turned out great!

Once again I’m excited to launch a new version of our online store and catalog at
www.leatherbelts.com.
This new version offers loads of convenient design enhancements, and features.
Home Page

- Leatherbelts.com Home Page Version 6.0
The new home page highlights three features promotions/ads, as well as displaying 12 of our top styles of the week. This should help our customers who know they want a belt but aren’t sure which style would be the best for them and want to know what other customers have been buying.
Collection (or category) Page

Leatherbelts.com Collection Page Version 6.0
Each new collection page features a short but concise description, visually accented with a matching image for each collection. All collection pages now displays four products per row instead of three, and our thumbnail images have been increased by over 25% in size. This provides a more clear view of each item from the collection page, less scrolling, and makes better use of the screen space available. In addition spacing between rows and columns are distributed more efficiently.
Product Page

Each product page has been improved tremendously. The main image size has been increased as well as the additional image thumbnails, and color swatches. The improved selection boxes make for more visually appealing experience when selecting size, color, etc… Also the sizing help section has been improved to work more easily for the customers. Additionally the add to cart, and price have been improved to be clear and easier to locate.
Finally the tabbed information section makes it easy to see additional information plus customers can take advantage of the more or less links to read the full product descriptions or only the excerpt.
